
My apologies to everyone for last week’s lack of updates. But I hope this one will make up for it to some extent.
The British Telegraph reports on the call for yoga as an Olympic sport. This seems to be coming mostly from Brikram Yoga practitioners. It might be nice to have it featured as a demonstration “sport,” but I think real competing will do injustice to yoga. Competing takes our practice outward, instead of inward.
Yoga Abode talks about a movie with three hours of silence. It is a movie made by Philip Groning and highlights the life of Carthusian monks. Although yoga abode does not link to any sources, more reviews can be found here and here. Just to make sure, it is not a new movie, it was released last year. See a trailer here.
